As a relational and trauma informed therapist, I am committed to creating a positive and supportive therapeutic alliance. I have 30 years of experience in the field of mental health and enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My clinical practice includes crisis intervention, relational counseling, and anxiety and trauma recovery. I believe that building a trusting and supportive relationship is an essential component for healing. I practice in an engaged and relational way, asking questions and offering feedback and coping tools, with the intent of guiding you toward your own solutions with compassion.
My primary treatment approach is Relational Cultural. In addition to my private practice, I am a Lecturer in the Social Work and Native American Studies Departments at Cal Poly Humboldt, teaching Advanced Clinical Practice, Native American Psychology, Recovery, and Mental Health courses. Additionally, I serve as a supervising clinician for therapist interns.
I am happy to speak with you directly about your counseling goals. Please feel free to call, or leave an email message if you would like to be contacted about availability, therapist referrals, or to discuss the possibility of working together.
I have extensive training in areas of anxiety and mood disorder management, trauma recovery, and couples and family therapy. I work with people who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma. We will delve deeply into these challenges and work collaboratively to resolve them and to increase coping and resilience. My goal is to support you to feel more empowered and confident in your life, relationships, and family dynamics moving forward.
